The original Panerai watch was built for the Italian Navy to give their divers legible timekeeping underwater. As time passed, its shape evolved and it grew extra features, including a point in the 1950's when the Panerai Luminor 6152/1 was created. This shape continues today as the Panerai Luminor 1950.
